While many thought that the Kallang Basin area has already completed its facelift, Sports Singapore announced in Aug 2019 that the transformation of the area is only midway. The project, termed “Kallang Alive”, consists of five other complimentary buildings to the existing Singapore Sports Hub, namely the Singapore Tennis Centre, Kallang Football Hub, Alive Gateway and Loop, Benaan Kapal Green, and the redevelopment of the Kallang Theatre with its adjoining areas into an integrated entertainment, sport, and lifestyle centre. Residents of Penrose condo will get to enjoy the new Jalan Benaan Kapal waterfront, where an active community park space will be coming up. Penrose is 76.15% sold as of 15th March 2021, with the 1 bedroom and 1 bedroom + study units sold on the launch day. This is due to the competitive prices from $15xx per square feet, and its close proximity to the Core Central Region.
All the 2 bedroom configurations are SOLD OUT as well, and the total number of 3 bedroom classic units still available is 17. Among the remaining 3 bedroom classic units, the 3(d) layout units under stack 33 are the most popular, which are corner units facing the 50m swimming pool and the Tree House Pavilion, and prices start from $1.572m. The next most popular are the 3(c) layout units under stack 30, which is also a corner unit at block 30m, but facing the driveway to the multi-storey carpark. These units start from $1.563m. Penrose In The News
Penrose condo was 60.3% sold on its launch day at 5pm, Sunday (Sept 27 2020). A total of 341 units out of 566 in this Sims Drive residence had been taken up, mentioned the Hong Leong Group in a media release. The 99-year leasehold Penrose condominium units were priced from $788,000 for a one-bedroom unit, $943,000 for a two-bedroom apartment, $1.33 million for a three-bedroom unit and $2.11 million for a four-bedroom apartment. The developer Hong Leong added that almost 85% of the purchasers at the launch were Singaporeans, with foreigners and permanent residents forming the remaining numbers. This is partially because of interest from HDB upgraders which not only came from around Penrose location, but also across the island city. That was how popular this condo is because of the competitive price.

Penrose Neighbouring Estates
Foodies adore this area, with the many eateries and cuisines littered along Sims Avenue and Geylang Road.
